Dermal fillers such as Juvaderm are made from a modified form of Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic Acid occurs naturally in our skin where it delivers nutrients, keeps skin moist and soft and gives it volume.

As we age, the amount of Hyaluronic Acid in our skin reduces and it looses elasticity, tone and lines and folds can form.

Dermal fillers can be injected into these lines to restore volume and give a rested and more youthful appearance.

Areas that can be treated include naso-labial folds i.e. the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth, marionette lines (which run from the corner of the mouth down toward your bottom jaw) and smoker’s lines.

Dermal fillers are injected into the dermal layer of the skin filling wrinkles and restoring volume. They contain Lidocaine to reduce discomfort during treatment. Other anaesthetic options are available such as topical cream or intra-oral nerve infiltrations.

Results are apparent immediately and while some fine lines will be gone completely, deeper lines may require a couple of treatments. Results usually last 6-8 months but this can vary from person to person.
